We had a huge response for our ticket lottery. We have notified everyone of the results and are gearing up for the big event on September 21st!

We are grateful to Lotteries Yukon and the Government of Yukon for their generous support of this event.

Featuring a stellar line up of innovative Yukon creators, Theatre in the Bush offers playful daring theatre, dance, storytelling and music mixed with a healthy dose of folksy Yukon charm.

The evening begins with musical guests Country Josh and Sarah Hamilton!

About Theatre in the Bush

Set deep in Yukon’s boreal forest, on the traditional territory of the Kwanlin Dün First Nation and Ta’an Kwächän Council, Theatre in the Bush takes the ritual and mad magic of a bush party and distills it into an interactive, multidisciplinary event.

Against a backdrop of scrubby spruce, pine and willow, audiences are led through the woods to see original performances that artists cook up over the course of a week.

Featuring a line-up of the best and brightest Yukon artists, Theatre in the Bush offers playful, daring theatre mixed with a healthy dose of folksy Yukon charm.

Past shows have featured: sound installations, synchronized swimmers, cooking shows, science experiments, drag performances, underwear fights, build your own clay creations, and many other charming, irreverent acts brimming with creativity and Yukon ingenuity.

Break a Leg

Break a Leg is a collectively improvised tale inspired by Tramadol, extra-strength Tylenol and the power of community.

Created through the haze of a badly broken leg, Fidler draws the audience into his experience through storytelling and games that speak to the better part of human nature and our innate desire to help each other in challenging circumstances.

Ramshackle Theatre is bringing Break a Leg to Wells, British Columbia! We are showcasing our heartfelt tribute to the good in people on March 21st at the Northern Exposure Conference hosted by Island Mountain Arts.

Robot uprising

With all of the puppets and set constructed from cardboard, hot glue and magnets Tombstone mashes the genres of science fiction and westerns and blends the worlds of puppetry and film.

Earl and Petal
Petal, a lonesome cowgirl working at the robot western-styled amusement park town of Tombstone dreams of creating her own wild- west entertainment show with a real live cowboy.

When Hank rides into town Petal seizes the opportunity to use Hank’s cowboy skills but doesn’t count on falling in love with the drifter cowboy.


Set against the backdrop of a robot uprising Petal struggles with her own identity when she finds herself in a love triangle with Hank and a robot cowboy.

Tombstone is part spaghetti western, part Westworld and all cardboard!

About Us

In our tiny studio in the Yukon's boreal forest Ramshackle Theatre creates cardboard puppet shows,outdoor theatre events and original plays for Yukon and national audiences

We keep things simple and count as our most trusted materials: hot glue, cardboard and magnets. No matter what the content of the production our starting place is: How do we create this work physically with what we have at hand? If we can’t build it from found materials, buy it cheap or borrow it, we tell the story simply.

Since 2006 Ramshackle Theatre has been presenting and touring original work. Under the Artistic Directorship of Brian Fidler the company has presented two productions at the Summerworks Performance Festival (The Cloaker and the Cabinet 2007, Broken 2012), brought our production Sci-Fi Double Feature to Victoria, Vancouver, The Banff Centre for the Arts and to the National Arts Centre in Ottawa and toured the solo play Broken about Alzheimer’s Disease, across the country.

Edward is a multidisciplinary artist with roots in video, animation and visual arts. Whether he's performing with a camera on-stage or crafting cardboard puppets, he employs a sharp focus and a delicate touch.
